The New York Public Library reading room in Focusverse

Our Universe

Study anywhere on Earth (and a little beyond)

Real libraries, world cafés, night trains, and the northern lights.

The world is full of rooms people cross oceans to sit in. Take a reading desk under the lamps of the New York Public Library, find a corner in Oxford's Radcliffe Camera, or work from a café in Tokyo, Seoul, or a rainy London afternoon. When you need to think bigger, there's a train through the Alps, the aurora over the north, and Earth itself from orbit.

No fiction here, just the planet at its quietest and most studyable.

A lofi desk with a sleepy penguin in Focusverse

Lofi World

Lofi rooms for slow, steady focus

Warm desks, sleepy penguins, coffee that never goes cold.

This is the universe of warm lamps, tidy desks, and weather you can watch instead of walk through. Take the window seat in a Ghibli-style coffee shop, share a desk with a penguin who is far more relaxed about your deadline than you are, or watch fireworks from a rooftop when the work is done.

Lofi World is the easiest place to start: pick a desk, pick a sound, press the timer. Nothing here is in a hurry, which is exactly why the work gets done.

The Hogwarts library in Focusverse

Harry Potter

Study in the world of Harry Potter

Candlelit libraries, common-room fires, rain on castle glass.

Some places were built for studying, and a castle full of libraries is one of them. Work among the shelves while rain streaks the windows, claim a study spot up the Astronomy Tower, or read by the fire in your house common room. All four are here, and the fires are always lit.

Add a quiet layer of sound if you like: the crackle of the hearth, rain on old glass, soft instrumental music. Set the timer, open your books, and let the castle do what it does.

A cozy Sims 4 beach house desk in Focusverse

The Sims

Sul sul. Time to focus.

Nostalgic desks and neighborhood calm. Sul sul.

If the Sims build music is permanently installed somewhere in your brain, this universe is for you. Work from a beach-house desk in Willow Creek, study in the Sims 1 library like it's 2001, or let a speed build run in the background while you do your own building.

It's pure nostalgic calm: neighborhoods where the biggest crisis is a kitchen fire, and that's somebody else's problem.

The Arcadia Bay lighthouse in Focusverse

Life is Strange

Slow afternoons in Arcadia Bay

Lighthouses, diners, and soft Pacific-Northwest light.

Arcadia Bay runs on golden light and overcast mornings, and both are good for getting things done. Spread your notes across a dorm-room desk at Blackwell, order the bottomless coffee at the Two Whales, or sit with the wind up at the lighthouse while the weather decides what it wants to be.

This is the universe for journaling energy: quiet indie soundtrack, soft Pacific-Northwest light, and nowhere you need to be except here.

An overgrown city at sunrise in Focusverse

The Last of Us

Quiet focus at the end of the world

Overgrown cities gone quiet and green.

There's a strange peace in places nature took back: a flooded city gone soft and green, a theater holding its breath, a farmhouse with morning light on the fields. The Last of Us universe is for the kind of work that needs stillness: reading, writing, thinking something through.

It's melancholy, but it's the gentle kind. The world ended; your deadline didn't. Both facts can coexist for the next fifty minutes.

A Night City apartment at night in Focusverse

Cyberpunk 2077

Focus in Night City

Neon rain and late-night apartments above Night City.

Night City never sleeps, which makes it good company when you can't either. Take a booth at Tom's Diner, watch heavy rain wash the neon down Japantown's streets, or work from a megabuilding apartment with the city humming sixty floors below.

It's cozy the way late nights are cozy: everything outside is loud and far away, and your desk is the one calm place in it. Timer in the corner, synths down low, go.

The City of Glass rooftops in Focusverse

Mirror's Edge

Clean light, clear head

White rooftops and clean morning light.

Some days the cozy you need is less: white rooftops, glass, sky, and a city that keeps its noise to itself. The City of Glass is the minimalist's universe: bright, open spaces for thinking in straight lines, and rain-slicked streets for when the mood turns.

If cluttered rooms make a cluttered head, work from up here for an afternoon.
