Terms of Use

The rules for using Focusverse

Last updated 5 October 2026

Focusverse is free to use. These terms keep it a calm, friendly place and protect the work that goes into it.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Cahelle Vleeshouwers, based in the Netherlands, who runs Focusverse (“we”). By using Focusverse, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Focusverse

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under 16, ask a parent or guardian before creating an account.

Your account

  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Don’t pick a username or display name that impersonates someone, misleads people, or is offensive. We may change or remove names that do.
  • You can stop using Focusverse at any time and ask us to delete your account at privacy@focusverse.io.

Community rules

Be kind to the people studying and working next to you. Don’t:

  • harass, bully, threaten or spread hate against anyone;
  • post sexual, violent or illegal content, or spam;
  • pretend to be someone else, or share other people’s personal information;
  • disrupt rooms, chats or sessions, for example with bots, scripts or flooding;
  • try to access other people’s accounts or data, or get around Focusverse’s security or limits.

If you break these rules, we may remove your content, limit what you can do, or suspend or delete your account. Seen something that breaks them? Let us know at support@focusverse.io.

Your content

What you write in Focusverse, like chat messages, your bio and your notes, stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it inside Focusverse as needed to run the service, for example showing your chat messages to other members. That permission ends when the content or your account is deleted. Only post things you have the right to share.

Focusverse's code, rooms and content

Focusverse, including its code, 3D rooms, design, artwork, sounds, text and name, belongs to Cahelle Vleeshouwers or to the people we license it from, and is protected by copyright. You may use Focusverse for your own personal use. Unless we have agreed to it in writing, you may not:

  • copy, download, re-host or redistribute its code, 3D rooms, artwork, sounds or other content;
  • decompile or reverse-engineer Focusverse, or extract its 3D scenes, models, textures or other assets;
  • use bots or scrapers to collect content or data from Focusverse;
  • use any of it to build another app, website or product.

This doesn’t take away anything the law always allows you to do. Videos, music, fonts and other material from third parties belong to their owners.

YouTube and Spotify

Focusverse plays content from YouTube and Spotify, which we don’t control. By using these features, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and, when you use Spotify, the Spotify Terms of Use.

A free service, as it is

Focusverse is free and provided as it is. We work hard to keep it running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that features will stay the same. We may change, pause or stop Focusverse or parts of it. Keep your own copy of anything important, like your notes.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost data or lost profits caused by using Focusverse. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, and nothing here affects your rights as a consumer.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and for important changes we will also give notice on the site. If you keep using Focusverse after a change, the new terms apply. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.

Law and disputes

Dutch law applies to these terms, and disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law and can also go to court there.
